(SCCAP)
The
Southern California Council of Alumnae Panhellenics
(SCCAP) coordinates recruitment information for the
California Colleges and Universities. Our purpose
is to further awareness and involvement
with National Panhellenic Conference (NPC)
organizations and the institutions of higher learning
at which they are located. For information on
Recruitment Activities in California, please
refer to the Northern, Central or Southern
California link. Information as to recruitment
will be provided.

The 2005-2006 host Alumnae Panhellenic chapter is the
Greater Long Beach Alumnae Panhellenic.
What is an Alumnae
Panhellenic (APH)?
An Alumnae Panhellenic Association is a
community based organization, affiliated with National
Panhellenic Conference, whose membership is composed of
representative alumnae from NPC member group
fraternities.
Purpose of Alumnae
Panhellenics:
- To INFORM fraternity women of current
trends
- To PROMOTE the fraternity system
- To IMPROVE the Panhellenic image
- To STIMULATE a continuing interest in
Panhellenic affairs
At this time, there are over 200 APHs in
the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Based upon NPC
policies, APHs set up their own organizations and carry
out programs in line with their special interest or
situations.
APHs enhance the fraternity system
through scholarship awards, annual educational
informational functions for prospective college
freshman, philanthropic projects, community
participation and civic leadership. Last year, over
$435,000 was raised and granted in scholarships by APHs
to over 580 women. If located in a college community, an
APH can give valuable support to a College Panhellenic.
Alumnae Panhellenics offer alumnae of
the 26 member groups of the National Panhellenic
Conference further leadership and social opportunities,
beyond the college years. An APH represents an ongoing
commitment of women to promote and foster the Greek
experience.

Overview
What is a College
Panhellenic (CPH)?
College Panhellenic associations are to
be established on campuses where there are at least two
NPC member group chapters. CPH's exist to develop and
maintain fraternity life and interfraternal relations.
CPH's through their all-sorority programming efforts,
often promote superior scholarship, leadership
development and dissemination of information important
to women in general. The CPH is the coordinating body
for recruitment
If one is a member of a chapter on a
campus with a CPH, then one is automatically a member of
that CPH. This means that CPH's often represent the
single largest women's organization on most campuses.
Each chapter has a designated person
that attends CPH meetings. Additionally, presidency or
chairmanship of the CPH works on a rotational basis
determined by the date each chapter was founded on the
given campus. Other leadership roles within the CPH are
available and necessary to the smooth functioning of the
organization.
What is the NPC
Connection with the College Panhellenic?
Members of the NPC College Panhellenics
Committee are assigned as Advisors to the College
Panhellenics. Each Advisor has specific Panhellenics she
advises on matters pertaining to NPC policies and
procedures. Area Advisors are available via phone and
e-mail at the request of the College Panhellenic. Area
Advisor Coordinators and the College Panhellenic
Committee Chairman are available to assist the Area
Advisors and College Panhellenic.
