We, as an Alumnae Panhellenic, wish to clearly state that no letters of
recommendation are required for participation in the sorority recruitment process. The official NPC Policy with reference to Letters of Recommendation is as follows: Letters of Recommendation (2020 - 2021) POLICY Any membership recruitment information distributed by College and/or Alumnae Panhellenic must not include references to letters of recommendation as a requirement to participate in recruitment. Member organizations that accept/request letters of recommendation have the responsibility to educate members and potential new members about their policies. Additionally, member organizations that do accept/request letters of recommendation must clarify that letters will not be accepted that are procured by a potential new member or her family in exchange for any type of compensation. We suggest that Potential New Members (PNM’s) acquaint themselves with each individual organization’s preference or requirements that are on the campus where they have chosen to go through the sorority recruitment process. We wish to refer PNM’s to the organizational websites listed below: NPC Member Organizations http://www.npcwomen.org/about/member-organizations.aspx NPC Member Organization International Websites Pi Beta Phi http://www.pibetaphi.org Kappa Alpha Theta http://www.kappaalphatheta.org Kappa Kappa Gamma http://www.kappa.org Alpha Phi http://www.alphaphi.org Delta Gamma http://www.deltagamma.org Gamma Phi Beta http://www.gammaphibeta.org Alpha Chi Omega http://www.alphachiomega.org Delta Delta Delta http://www.tridelta.org Alpha Xi Delta http://www.alphaxidelta.org Chi Omega http://www.chiomega.com Sigma Kappa http://www.sigmakappa.org Alpha Omicron Pi http://www.alphaomicronpi.org Zeta Tau Alpha http://www.zetataualpha.org Alpha Gamma Delta http://www.alphagammadelta.org Alpha Delta Pi http://www.alphadeltapi.org Delta Zeta http://www.deltazeta.org Phi Mu http://www.phimu.org Kappa Delta http://www.kappadelta.org Sigma Sigma Sigma http://www.sigmasigmasigma.org Alpha Sigma Tau http://www.alphasigmatau.org Alpha Sigma Alpha http://www.alphasigmaalpha.org Alpha Epsilon Phi http://www.aephi.org Theta Phi Alpha http://www.thetaphialpha.org Delta Phi Epsilon http://www.dphie.org Sigma Delta Tau http://www.sigmadeltatau.org Phi Sigma Sigma http://www.phisigmasigma.org Each Sorority has its own policy and we suggest you contact them if you have any questions. NPC Member Organization Internet Web Site Each Sorority has its own policy and we suggest you contact them if you have any questions. We offer you this to assist you in your endeavors. We actively promote the spirit of Panhellenic unity and the overall sorority experience. It is our desire to reach out to all women wishing to share the opportunity of sorority membership. We ask if you would please let us know after you have gone through recruitment what your experience has been, if you have gone Greek, and if not, anything you would care to share with us. Sorority Life can be a wonderful experience. Please remember it is your experience, and not your friends, your mother's or anyone else's. Your choice should be yours and reflect the unique campus, organizations and people you experience. Always remember it is a mutual selection process and you are interviewing people and groups as much as they are you. Since 1908, the name “National Panhellenic Conference” (Panhellenic=All Greek) was adopted by a number of national sororities to designate their cooperative organization. There are presently (26) national sororities who are members of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) in the United States and Canada. Where there are national sororities on a college/university campus, their collaborative organization is also called a Collegiate Panhellenic. As a member of NPC, the Southern California Council of Alumnae Panhellenics strives to assist all potential Southern California sorority members in experiencing the best recruitment possible; and enable the maximum number of girls to become sorority members. This can be achieved by familiarizing potential new members with the recruitment process and the benefits of local area alumnae panhellenic involvement. These Panhellenics are volunteer organizations of sorority alumnae who focus on scholarships and assistance to their area colleges and universities. Below are a variety of websites for further assistance. Please consider viewing them. Have a wonderful recruitment experience.
